CREATIVITY
Celebrating creativity is the essence of 42 Degrees. Our mission is to develop an immersive space where people feel safe and comfortable to let their imagination run wild. Through showcasing, experimenting with and combining art-forms, we hope to encourage open-mindedness and respect for new ideas amongst our community. We hope to grow a community through a shared love for the arts.
How we aim to work towards this in 2022:
- Programming a diverse and inclusive range of art forms including live and DJ music, film, comedy, food and drink, poetry, spoken word and dance
- Programming collaborations between different art forms, helping develop a community
- Programming a variety of workshops for people to learn, share and develop interests within the arts. These workshops are designed for all abilities and experience levels, encouraging a space for people to grow together
- We continue to focus on selecting up-and-coming artists, providing a platform to explore performance within the arts
- Our Creative team are working to ensure all site decorations and installations are designed from upcycled materials
- Our Creative team will be appointing a team of creative volunteers who they will help design and make site installations
- Our Arts Engagement Officer continues to widen the variety of arts organisations we collaborate with. Through these connections, we aim to diversify the range of art-forms we showcase at the festival
How we aim to work towards this, looking to the future:
- Furthering collaborations with arts organisations so as to ensure art installations can be used by other community projects throughout the year
- Developing our Creative team so that individual stages and festival spaces have creative sub-teams
- Developing events throughout the year that showcase the variety of art-forms celebrated at the festival
